blessings in the silence

"May the silence in our lives only create re-assurance of the presence of God in the midst of its chaos. Let us not be afraid to let go the person we present to the rest of the world and come before God in utter imperfection. May it be through this that God feed our souls and compell us to continue the work of meeting the needs of the world simply because we have the capacity to do so. May we feel the unconditional love and boundless grace of God surrounding us in every step we take."

The self-denying, other-affirming, community building love of the triune God is quietly present everywhere around us in the world, if only we learn to have the ears to hear and eyes to see it. Everywhere there's evidence of love. If we really learn this truth, what would it mean for how we live our lives in the world?

MB,
Did you ever watch the new version of the movie "The Four Feathers" with me? In it there's an African Christian who, when asked by the Enlgishment why he is helping him (the Englishman), answers: "Because God put you in my way!" At the end of the movie the Englishman asks the African Christian what he will do now and he answers: "Whatever God puts in my way."
This goes along with the view of God's presence in the world with us. The wonderful surprise for us is that God's surprsing will for us everyday is "Whatever God puts in our way." no bands of angels, no grand miracles...just the everyday people and situations that God places in our way are God's will for us, our appointed tasks, for the day. If we can see that it will radicalize our lives before God and help us lead a happier, more contented life before God.
I love you! Keep making me think and re-think!
